This NET occurs weekly on Monday evenings at 8:30 local time. There are no nets on national holidays or during the weeks of Christmas and New Years. At 20:25 PM Mountain Time, make the following announcement on the net frequency. >The District 3, Southwest Idaho ARES Net will start in 5 minutes. Stations that need to make an urgent call, please do so at this time. A clear channel will be appreciated. This is (your call sign). START OF NET 8:30 PM SHARP (2030 HOURS) >QST, QST, QST. This is (your name and callsign), net control station for the District 3, Southwest Idaho ARES net. This net meets every Monday at 2030 hours Mountain Time, on this repeater system. Depending on link availability, the system may include the 146.940 MHz repeater on Shaffer Butte, the 443.300 Megahertz repeater on West Mountain, the 146.900 MHz repeater on Brundage Mountain, the 147.020 MHz repeater on No Business Mountain, AND the 145.310 MHz repeater on Pilot Peak. In case of repeater failures, the net will continue on the simplex frequency of 147.500 MHz using simplex communications techniques and relays. When operating simplex, turn your squelch down or off to hear weak stations, and provide relay services as needed. Stations with emergency or priority traffic may break in at any time. Do we have any emergency or priority traffic? (Pause about 7 seconds.) BREAK >This net tests the communications capabilities of ARES stations and provides a forum for emergency communications training, and information sharing. All licensed amateur radio operators are invited to check-in, learn with us, and participate in net activities. The requirements for ARES membership are an Amateur Radio License of any class, and a serious interest in providing volunteer radio communications support in an emergency. ARES members should have an interest in self-improvement and in maintaining high standards for community service.
